St Mary's Hospital - 6th floor

Cath Lab
In a partnership with Prairie Heart Institute (PHI) and St. John’s Hospital, St. Mary’s offers high-quality, cost-effective diagnostic cardiac care in its cardiac catheterization lab on the hospital’s 6th floor. Under the direction of cardiologist Luis J. Caceres, M.D., Medical Director of Cardiology, the lab allows for pacemaker insertions and diagnostic catheterizations, which identify blockages in the arteries leading to the heart.

Cath Lab Photo GallerySt. Mary’s catheterization lab benefits from a GE Innova™ 2000 all-digital cardiovascular imaging system, which offers superior image quality at a very low radiation dose and enables cardiologists to better view and treat coronary artery blockages that could contribute to cardiovascular damage and heart attack.

A unique feature is a direct communication link to St. John’s Hospital, which allows the attending cardiologist to review cases with a team of PHI physicians in Springfield to determine whether more extensive procedures like open-heart surgery are warranted, all while the patient is undergoing the catheterization procedure at St. Mary’s.

For more information about St. Mary’s Catheterization Lab, please call 464-7584.
