St. Mary’s is home to the Advanced Rehabilitation Center (ARC), a unique therapeutic setting that allows you to receive intensive, comprehensive rehabilitation services along with inpatient medical care. At the ARC, we take a holistic approach to rehabilitation, meaning we care for you as a whole person––body, mind and spirit––during your stay with us. Your individual treatment plan is interdisciplinary in nature, including various forms of therapy, medical services, behavioral health services and family training and support.
The ARC often cares for people suffering from severe arthritis, strokes, head or spinal cord injuries, major traumas, major joint replacements, severe burns, amputations and severe fractures of the hip or leg. Patients are typically referred to the ARC by their physicians when their recovery plans includes at least two types of therapy (physical, occupational or speech) along with inpatient care for a medical issue. In addition, patients must be healthy enough to participate in three hours of therapy a day.
The ARC is accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities. CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization focused on advancing the quality of rehabilitation facilities. Our CARF accreditation gives you confidence that we are committed to continually improving our services, encouraging feedback from our patients and serving our community. In addition, ARC is part of St. Mary’s Hospital, which is accredited by the Joint Commission, an independent, non-profit organization that is recognized nationwide as the symbol for hospital quality.
