HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Hosts 2nd Wind Flute Choir this Weekend

This Sunday, December 11, HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital will host the 2nd Wind Flute Choir from 1 – 3 p.m. in the main lobby. This is their second annual performance at the hospital during the holiday season. Mary Little, an adjunct music professor at Millikin University, founded the choir eight years ago. Since then, they have played events all around central Illinois, performing classical and religious music.

We welcome all visitors to stop by St. Mary’s lobby and enjoy the beautiful sounds of the 2nd Wind Flute Choir. This performance will focus on Christmas music. The eight member flute choir will perform such classics as, “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Dance of the Reed Flutes” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” The flute choir includes representatives from Millikin University, Decatur and Springfield Public Schools as well as the Decatur Municipal Band, so come on out a listen to some local musicians perform classic Christmas songs.

For more information on the 2nd Wind Flute Choir or to invite them to play at your event, contact Mary Little at 217-422-4020.
